STUDENTS
One of the things we love at Southwest are Medical Students. We take any 3rd or 4th year medical student......any time....we don't say no!! Direct patient care is encouraged and few walk away without at least attempting a major procedure. The student experience includes a directed lectures series. House and meals are provided.
Not only do we take all 3rd and 4th year students, we offer 1st and 2nd years the opportunity to shadow.
For those students who know that Emergency Medicine is their career, we offer a residency track. This offers students the opportunity to have a resident or faculty mentor work with them to improve their application, their skills, and hopefully the confidence to start their intern year a little more prepared than most.
