Welcome to the Southwestern Medical Center Emergency Medicine Residency Home Page. We are an American Osteopathic Association accredited Osteopathic Graduate Medical Education program. We accept 7 osteopathic interns per year. The 1 year emergency emphasis internship is linked to the three year emergency medicine residency. The internship is fully accredited by the A.O.A and the intern spends 3 months in the emergency department. Residents spend every other month in the emergency department, with out rotations in other disciplines. Go to our rotations page to find out more information about the required rotations. We are located at Integris Southwest Medical Center in Oklahoma City. In 2006, Southwest hat 74,433 emergency room visits, with 8,868 hospital admissions from the ER. The ER has 22 trauma-acute care beds, a 6 bed minor ER, and a 6 bed medical/cardiac decision unit. Southwest is a Level III trauma center. Click here to see a video about Southwest Medical Center.
